AT TECH: Veteran tailback who was limited to just one game in 2002 due to a concussion . . . Career total of 657 yards rushing, including two 100-yard games, and five touchdowns.
2002: Played in just one game, rushing for 52 yards on 11 carries in Tech’s win at Connecticut . . . Sustained a concussion in preseason practice and sat out the season-opener . . . Was cleared to play against the Huskies but then began experiencing headaches following the game and did not play again.
2001: Tech’s second-leading rusher with 290 yards and one touchdown . . . Carried the ball 69 times and averaged 4.2 yards per carry . . . Caught one pass for 16 yards . . . Led Tech with 129 yards on 22 carries against Navy . . . Gained 69 yards on 10 carries against Clemson, including a fourth-quarter touchdown on a 10-yard run.
2000: Tech’s third-leading rusher behind Joe Burns and Sean Gregory . . . Rushed for 246 yards on just 49 attempts . . . Average of 5.0 yards per carry was the best among Tech’s four tailbacks . . . Scored three touchdowns . . . Turned in his first 100-yard game with 111 yards on 15 carries against Wake Forest, including an 18-yard touchdown run . . . Gained 56 yards on 14 carries against Navy with one touchdown . . . Also scored against Duke while gaining 24 yards.
1999: Ended the season as the backup tailback behind Sean Gregory . . . Moved up to the varsity following Phillip Rogers’ season-ending injury and played in three of the final five games . . . Carried the ball 11 times for 69 yards (6.3 average) . . . Made an impression in his first game, rushing nine times for 49 yards against NC State, including a one-yard touchdown run.
HIGH SCHOOL: Honorable mention all-America by USA Today . . . Named to the “Super Southern 100” and “Top 50 in Georgia” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which also placed him on its preseason “Super 11” team . . . Ranked the No. 65 prospect in Dixie by SuperPrep . . . Rated the No. 3 running back in Georgia by the Tom Lemming Report and the No. 14 running back in the SEC Region by Prep Star . . . Named the Rome News Tribune Offensive Player of the Year . . . Led the state as a senior with 2,595 yards rushing and 33 touchdowns . . . Gained 1,996 yards and scored 34 touchdowns as a junior . . . Rushed for over 100 yards 25 times in his prep career, including seven times over the 200-yard mark . . .
