Methods of Support

Contributions to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. are considered a part of The Campaign for Georgia Tech and are used primarily for student-athlete scholarships. You will receive donor benefits immediately upon making your contribution or pledge each year. The following are a few of the methods you can choose to support A-T.

Cash Donations
Most gifts to A-T take this form and it is as easy as writing a check or using your VISA, MasterCard or American Express. Make your checks payable to "Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc." To make a gift online, visit: http://ramblinwreck.ocsn.com/ot/alexander/atfund.html

Matching Gifts
Many companies will match your gift to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. Submit your company's matching gift form with your payment, and it significantly increases your contribution to the fund. A-T will recognize the total contribution, including the matching gift (and the associated priority points) as soon as the gift is received. Please send your matching gift form to the A-T Fund at:

150 Bobby Dodd Way NW
Atlanta, GA 30332-0455

Monthly Donation Program
The opportunity is now available to make monthly contributions through an automatic charge on your credit card. Please contact the A-T office at (404) 894-5414 or visit http://ramblinwreck.ocsn.com/ot/alexander/atfund.html for details.

Bequests
Gifts through wills and bequests can provide you with benefits and the opportunity to sustain your family name with endowed scholarships. Bequests made through wills can be made in specific amounts, percentages of estates, or residual amounts.

Insurance
Life insurance is an attractive method to make a substantial gift to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc. A-T will give you credit in the amount of the annual premium for policies of $50,000 or more with A-T as the owner and beneficiary. Policies of $250,000 or more can create an endowed scholarship in memory or honor of the person of choice.

Life Income
Charitable trusts offer an opportunity to make a substantial gift to A-T without giving up the annual income produced by these assets. You retain income for your life and the life of your spouse. A-T will give you credit for a percentage of this trust immediately. This gift can also be structured to create a substantial tax break over a period of years. Once again, if the gift meets or exceeds $250,000, an endowed scholarship can be created in memory or honor of the person of choice.

Real Estate
Substantial tax benefits also exist for gifts of real estate. A-T will give you credit for the appraised value of the property. Charitable trusts established with gifts of real estate are popular methods of creating life income with tax benefits.

Securities
You may eliminate paying capital gains tax and receive an income tax charitable deduction for gifts of long-term appreciated securities. Once again, any gift of $250,000 or more will produce an endowed scholarship in memory or honor of the person of choice.

Please consult with a tax advisor concerning the deductibility of contributions to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, Inc.
